Healing, Education, Abundant Life

Project Update

Before we accepted this mission assignment we had already planted a large garden. Actually, we planted  three of them. Over the years we've lived here we have used these gardens to bless the community we live in and to build friendships with our neighbors.  It has been a blessing for all of us.

But gardens don't take care of themselves. In fact, the ground these gardens grow has been quite depleted after being logged years ago; we are constantly amending, mulching, composting to improve the soil, and working to prevent erosion and leaching of the soil nutrients.

Despite it's challenges, by studying its specific needs, it produces abundantly and we always have more than enough to share.

This year, our gardening is stymied by packing, sorting, selling and finding new owners for what we no longer need or want.

We call this an "opportunity" and for those of you who have lived long enough in any one place will understand why.

We will be speaking at some churches in the area.  If you are in the area of any of these churches, we hope to see you there:
